CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union has a great career opportunity for an experienced Call Center Representative, to work in our Greenbelt, Maryland office.  The Call Center Representative is responsible for providing a variety of sales and service functions such as promoting the benefits of membership as well as the Credit Union’s products and services.  The incumbents would provide a variety of sales and service functions such as information on all Credit Union services by phone, email, fax  or mail and effectively cross-sell the products and services that meet the member’s specific needs.  Respond to questions and/or provide information, processes requests/transactions as appropriate and assist member and potential members in understanding and utilizing the Credit Union’s products and services.

Some Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide routine information including eligibility for membership, types of Credit Union accounts, interest rates, current dividend rates, branch locations, office hours and telephone numbers.
  • Research and respond to member’s requests, problems and complaints via phone or written request.
  • Sell Credit Union products and services to new and existing members by asking the correct questions to determine which products and services best meet their need.  Complete the necessary paperwork, mail to member and follow up to make sure documents are received and that the member does not have any additional questions or concerns.
  • Assist members with balancing their accounts, process member request for transfer shares, share withdrawals by check, line of credit advances, wire transfers, process stop payments, help complete relevant forms such as direct deposit and payroll deduction, and balance teller transactions.
  • Prepare form letters to members concerning inquiries on transactions directly affecting their accounts.
  • Assists members in signing up and using On-Line Banking and On-Line Bill Payer.  Process pending transactions.
  • Provide credit references to credit bureaus, financial institutions and verify funds on member accounts via phone.
  • Process request for photocopies of share drafts, monthly statements etc. Order and block plastic cards.
  • Examine checks and other negotiable instruments for endorsement and negotiability.
  • Retrieve ATM deposits and balances.

Position requirement:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED Associated Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years financial institution experience required
  • Minimum 6 months experience selling products and services over the phone required
  • Must have a proven track record in sales and the ability to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Intermediate mathematically skills required
  • Excellent and proven customer service skills
  • Demonstrable professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Professional

Job Title & Description Branch
MORTGAGE LOAN COORDINATOR

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Coordinator to work in our Greenbelt location.  Chosen applicant will be responsible for reviewing and processing mortgage loan applications, preparing commitment letters for approved mortgages, settlement packages for attorney’s office, closing documents and wire requests. Responding to questions and/or providing information upon request from members.   Interview mortgage loan applicants and sell features and benefits of credit unions products and services.

Some Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interviews mortgage loan applicants and cross sells products and services that fit member’s need.
  • Answers member’s phone inquiries concerning mortgage products and schedules appointments.
  • Reviews and processes mortgage loan applications.
  • Prepares commitment letters for approved mortgages.
  • Prepares settlement packages, closing documents and wire requests for attorney.  Conducts settlements where title insurance is not required.
  • Ensures each loan is processed i.e. documented, closed, disbursed, coordinated, and filed.
  • Disburses closed loans by posting to the Users system.
  • Reviews mortgage disbursed files for necessary paper work, signatures, notices, rates, loan type, collateral, payment etc.
  • Travels to branches for monthly Mortgage Days and to meet with members when necessary.
  •  Maintains mortgage files and pipeline log.
  • Generates leads for new mortgage applications.
  • Inputs information into the HMDA log.
  • Prepares required releases on paid out mortgage loans.
  • Prepares subordination agreements.
  • Assists as needed in the day-to-day operations of the Mortgage Department.

 

Position requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 
  • Minimum two years financial experience loan processing and member servicing required.
  • Ability to travel to branch locations to conduct interviews. Must provide own transportation.  
  • Applicant must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Initial office hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

TELLER/GREETER

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union is seeking a candidate for a Teller/Greeter position for its branch in Bowie, MD.  The chosen applicant will be responsible for balancing cash drawer daily, providing information to members, cross-selling credit union products, processing deposits and withdrawals, processing loan and VISA payments, account inquires, entering transactions into the credit union records via a PC, responding to questions and/or providing information upon request from members, and assisting members and potential members in understanding and utilizing credit union products and services.

Some Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments transfers and cashing checks.
  • Accurately maintains and balances cash drawer and conducts all transactions in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Inspects all checks, money orders, Traveler’s Checks, etc. for proper endorsement and negotiability.
  • Helps process mail, overnight deposits and pending transactions.
  • Provides members with account status, including current balances as well as the necessary forms to transact business at the Credit Union.

  • Interacts professionally and cordially with members to determine member’s financial needs and cross-sells credit union products and services to meet those needs.  Personalizes each transaction (in person and over the phone) through knowledge about the member, making eye contact, a pleasant greeting and thanking the member by name.
  • Provides members with accurate and up to date information regarding membership eligibility, member’s accounts, credit union procedures, rate, products and services etc.
  • Responds in a positive, helpful manner to members concerns, problems and or complaints.  Ensures the matter is resolves to the member’s satisfaction or directs them to the appropriate individual who can help them.
  • Participates in and support Credit Union promotions.

 

Position requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 
  • Minimum of 18 months cash handling and customer service experience in a financial institution or retail organization required. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information and perform routine mathematical calculations. 
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, 10 key calculator, fax, copier, telephone, etc. 
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs.

Starting salary commensurate with experience.

Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. , Friday 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m.
