PART-TIME  MEMBER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union has great career opportunities for experienced part-time Member Services Representative, for its branch in Greenbelt, Maryland.  The Member Services Representative is responsible for providing a variety of sales and service functions such as providing information on all Credit Union services and effectively cross-selling the products and services that meet the member’s specific needs.  Support the Credit Union’s membership and asset growth goals by participating in sales campaigns and community outreach events as determined by the Branch Manager.  Respond to questions and/or provide information, processes requests/transactions as appropriate and assist member and potential members in understanding and utilizing Credit Union products and services.


Some Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sell Credit Union products and services to new and existing members by determining the products and services that best meet their need.
  • Provide general and specific service-related information in person, by phone and/or in writing to potential and existing members concerning the Credit Union’s products, services and policies.
  •  Provide information including eligibility for membership, types of Credit Union accounts, interest rates, current dividend rates, and branch locations and hours.
  • Take loan and credit card applications and disburses accurately and promptly following established credit union guidelines.
  • Assist and support management’s outside call efforts by going to the various SEGs and  opening accounts on site.
  • Research and respond to member’s requests, problems and complaints.
  • Assist members with balancing their account, processes member requests for transfers of shares and loans, take and process wire transfers, process stop payments, and help    complete relevant forms such as Direct Deposit and payroll deduction.
  • Prepare form letters to members concerning inquiries on transactions directly affecting their    accounts.
  • Assist members in signing up for and using On-Line banking, On-Line Bill Payer and any    other on-line services.
  • Process requests for photocopies of share drafts, monthly statements etc.
  • Order and block plastic cards.
  • Examine checks and other negotiable instruments for endorsement and negotiability.
  • Process ATM pin requests and retrieve ATM deposits and balances as needed.

Position requirement:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED Associated Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years financial institution experience required.
  • Must have experience selling and cross selling products or services.
  • Intermediate mathematically skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment.

Initial office hours: Monday and Wednesday 11:00 a.m. – 3: 00 p.m., Friday 11:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and every other Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union has a great career opportunity for an experienced Call Center Representative, to work in our Greenbelt, Maryland office.  The Call Center Representative is responsible for providing a variety of sales and service functions such as promoting the benefits of membership as well as the Credit Union’s products and services.  The incumbents would provide a variety of sales and service functions such as information on all Credit Union services by phone, email, fax  or mail and effectively cross-sell the products and services that meet the member’s specific needs.  Respond to questions and/or provide information, processes requests/transactions as appropriate and assist member and potential members in understanding and utilizing the Credit Union’s products and services.

Some Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide routine information including eligibility for membership, types of Credit Union accounts, interest rates, current dividend rates, branch locations, office hours and telephone numbers.
  • Research and respond to member’s requests, problems and complaints via phone or written request.
  • Sell Credit Union products and services to new and existing members by asking the correct questions to determine which products and services best meet their need.  Complete the necessary paperwork, mail to member and follow up to make sure documents are received and that the member does not have any additional questions or concerns.
  • Assist members with balancing their accounts, process member request for transfer shares, share withdrawals by check, line of credit advances, wire transfers, process stop payments, help complete relevant forms such as direct deposit and payroll deduction, and balance teller transactions.
  • Prepare form letters to members concerning inquiries on transactions directly affecting their accounts.
  • Assists members in signing up and using On-Line Banking and On-Line Bill Payer.  Process pending transactions.
  • Provide credit references to credit bureaus, financial institutions and verify funds on member accounts via phone.
  • Process request for photocopies of share drafts, monthly statements etc. Order and block plastic cards.
  • Examine checks and other negotiable instruments for endorsement and negotiability.
  • Retrieve ATM deposits and balances.

Position requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), Associate degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years financial experience required.
  • Must have experience selling and cross- selling financial products or services.
  • Six (6) months call center experience preferred. 
  • Must be able to meet and/or exceed sales goals.
  • Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to function in a call center environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: computer, 10 key calculator, fax, copier, telephone, etc. 
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs.
