FIVE $3,000 SCHOLARSHIPS
Each scholarship will be awarded to assist in paying for tuition, books, and living expenses for students working toward a four-year undergraduate degree, a two-year associates degree or a vocational studies certification.
Essays are judged by a committee of Credit Union Officials and Volunteers. The judging criteria includes content, writing style and creativity. Adherence to rules of proper English grammar, spelling, clarity, and organization, are required. Original concepts, new ideas and creative short stories are encouraged.
Students are required to provide proof of full-time enrollment in an accredited university, college or vocational school prior to disbursement of funds.
The scholarship does not require school specification, repayment, a specific major, a letter of recommendation or demonstration of financial need.
After all essays have been judged, the winners and their parents/guardians will be contacted directly. All essays must be emailed by Monday, April 12, 2010 in order to be considered for judging. For more information contact Lydia Gray at 301.779.8500 ext. 4013.
