Serving the education community
Chris Conway has been the President/CEO of Educational Systems Federal Credit Union since 2007. Prior to becoming the President/CEO, he was the Credit Union's Chief Operating Officer beginning in 1998. With over 25 years of credit union experience, Chris began his credit union career at Montgomery County Teachers FCU and has worked in branches, lending, information systems, compliance, electronic services and finance.
Chris is passionate about serving the education community and credit unions. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Education Credit Union Council where he previously served as President. Chris serves on the Board of Directors of the Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and the District of Columbia, and he represents credit unions on the Community Depository Institution Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
Previously, Chris served on the Board of Directors of the MD|DC Credit Union Association for 13 years. During his tenure, he held various leadership positions including Treasurer, Vice Chairman, Suburban Chapter President and Chairman of Credit Union Services Inc., a for-profit corporation owned by the MD|DC Credit Union Association. He is a member of the Metropolitan Area Credit Union Management Association, and he has represented credit unions on the Maryland State Department of Education's Financial Literacy Education Advisory Council.
Chris was recognized with the MD|DC Credit Union Association's Judith A. Burgin Memorial Professional of the Year Award in 2011, and again in 2015. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Frostburg State University.
