Chris Conway has been the President/CEO of Educational Systems Federal Credit Union since 2007. Prior to becoming the President/CEO, he had been the Chief Operating Officer of the Credit Union since 1998. With over 25 years of credit union experience, Chris has worked in areas such as lending, information systems, branches, compliance, electronic services and finance.
Chris is passionate about credit unions that serve the education community. Prior to joining Educational Systems FCU, he began his credit union career working for Montgomery County Teachers FCU. Additionally, Chris previously served as President of the Board of Directors of the Education Credit Union Council, an organization that advocates for credit unions serving the education community. As an advocate for financial literacy, Chris sits on the Maryland State Department of Education's Financial Literacy Education Advisory Council.
In the credit union community, Chris is a member of the Metropolitan Area Credit Union Managers Association. He also served on the Board of Directors of the MD|DC Credit Union Association for 13 years. During his tenure, he held various leadership positions including Treasurer, Vice Chairman, Suburban Chapter President, and Chairman of Credit Union Services Inc., which is a for-profit corporation owned by the MD|DC Credit Union Association.
Chris was awarded the Judith A. Burgin Memorial Professional of the Year Award in 2011, and again in 2015, by the MD|DC Credit Union Association. He is a lifelong resident of Maryland and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Frostburg State University.
